Creamy, cheesy mushroom pasta bake

A quick, easy and versatile mushroom and prawn pasta bake with a creamy, cheese  sauce. If you don’t have prawns, substitute chicken or bacon (cooked before adding).

Make it vegetarian

Skip the prawns and double up on the mushrooms for a creamy, cheesy vegetarian pasta bake.

Serve with a salad and bread for an easy and balanced meal.

Smarter cooking tips:

  • Save time by using a quality off-the-shelf cheese sauce for this recipe.   If you cook from scratch, you’ll need to allow extra time to make your own cheese sauce.
  • Save time and mess by purchasing peeled and deveined prawn meat, rather than cleaning the prawns yourself

Creamy, cheesy mushroom pasta bake

Prep: 20 min | Cook: 20 min| Serves: 4


  • 200g dry pasta (I use shell pasta)
  • 1 tblspn olive oil
  • 250g green prawns, peeled and deveined, tails removed
  • 200g sliced mushrooms
  • 1 jar Dolmio Three Cheese Sauce, or other bechamel based pasta sauce
  • 250 g tasty cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Cook 200g of dry pasta.
  3. Fry 250g green prawns and 200g sliced mushrooms until cooked.
  4. Combine cooked pasta, prawn mixture and Dolmio Three Cheese Sauce in a baking dish.
  5. Cover with 1 cup of grated tasty cheese, or more according to taste.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
